Hydrogen Storage for Portable Fuel Cells
L. Dubal and R. NesperThe spectacular hydrogen uptake in graphite nanofibers of herringbone-morphology reported by the NEU led to an unpalatable situation: the flooding of the web (and of the written press) with contradictory experimental results obtained on poorly specified carbon nanostructure under widely varying experimental conditions. In our opinion, the hydrogen uptake of each type of carbon nanostructures (SWNT, MWNT, Scroll, HB-Fiber, etc) can be expected to be very specific, i.e. to vary widely with the host morphology, and the experimental conditions. As hydrogen storage is crucial for the market potential of Portable Fuel Cells, we organize on June 21st, 1999 in Lucerne, a workshop on this issue in the hope to define a common language and research strategy. Hope to see you there.
