Diameter Increase Upon Thermal Annealing
Patrick BernierNote that the group of Sylvie Bonnamy in Orleans in collaboration with the group of P. Bernier in Montpellier have shown that if you start from classical SWNTs (around 1.4 nm) and anneal them up to 2200oC, you end up with tubes of diameters up to 2-2.5 nm. They have been clearly seen by HRTEM (Annick Loiseau) and by Raman spectroscopy (Serge Lefrant). A part of the data has been published in the proceedings of the IWEP98.
