  • From the main (Zenko-ji) exit of the JR station, turn right on Nagano Odori Avenue
    (this is the busy avenue running parallel to the rail tracks).
  • Walk along the Nagano Odori, which will be turning slightly left.
  • When you see a covered shopping passage Nagano Gondo
    crossing Nagano Odori Avenue (near the Nagaden Gondo subway station),
    turn right and walk to the end of the shopping passage
    (this is a very short, 1 minute walk).
    Now, you are only 3 minutes away from the church.
  • Turn left, walk one block, then turn right.
    You will see a massive red/white TV antenna ahead of you.
    Walk towards the antenna; you will see a white church with a tower,
    dedicated to St. Francis, on your right.

  • Tell the taxi driver "Sei Franscisco Hoikuen, Nishi tsuruga Gondo"
    (This is the name of a popular kindergarten that people know)
