Description:
The
self-assembly process and unusual phenomena occurring in nanostructures
of carbon. Magnetic aggregates in different size ranges. Finite size
and low-dimension effects. Fractional conductance quantization.
Response in nanostructures to mechanical stress, high temperature, and
electric fields. Offered first half of semester.
