Computational Nanotechnology Lab at Michigan State University

Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Computational Nanotechnology

The Computational Nanotechnology group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University has openings for exceptionally gifted researchers dedicated to Computational Nanotechnology. These openings are limited to those, who can obtain 100% funding, typically from a fellowship such as a Fulbright Scholarship.

Activities will include performing computer simulations of nanostructures, mentoring graduate students, and maintaining computational environment including project-specific software. It is expected that research results be published in a respected journal.

Successful candidates should have a PhD in computational Condensed Matter Physics or Computational Chemistry, be capable of writing and maintaining original code in Fortran or any high-level programming language, and be familiar with the Unix operating system. Exceptional candidates with weaker expertise in one of these areas may still be considered.

For consideration, please provide by email

  1. a curriculum vitae (CV),
  2. email addresses of three references, who will be asked to email a letter of recommendation, and
  3. a solution of the atomic physics problem described HERE
to David Tomanek (tomanek@msu.edu) with the subject "CNL postdoc application".
